Two Variety Nights of Music by Selkirk College Ensembles

Join us to celebrate the end of the term on the highest of notes! Instructor-led student ensembles from the Contemporary Music & Technology Program will take to the stage in an unforgettable night of original music and covers.

Thursday, December 12

Selkirk Songwriters 

Matthew Osborne (guitar), Peter Vandermeulen (guitar), Drew Storey (guitar, vocals), Mackenzie Tait (vocals), Maria Luisa Zuniga (drums, vocals), Giana Stoltz (cello) and faculty leader Emily Millard (vocals)

Selkirk Songwriters serve up fresh originals in a variety of styles! 

Police Tribute Band 

Featuring Reid Erickson (drums), Finley Kinghorn (guitar), Kjetil Lund-Andersen (guitar and voice), Trevor McCarron (keys and voice), Jackie Wang (voice), Aaron Pasacreta (bass and voice), Quin Tanner (trumpet) and faculty leader Don Macdonald (sax)

The Police Tribute Band covers all their hits with a large ensemble that includes multiple singers and horns.  

Odd Alternative Ensemble

Sofia Feregrino-Barquin (vocals), Ryder Leigh (guitar and vocals), Silas Boyden and Santiago Brodie (guitar), Kaes Blommestein (drums) and faculty leader Jill McKenna on bass

The Odd Alternative Ensemble explores alternative rock's edgy, rhythmic world in odd time signatures. Featuring standout songs inspired by Radiohead, Alice in Chains and more, this ensemble brings you fresh takes on a genre-defying style.

Hard Rock Ensemble

Grace Woodcox and Crystal Chen (vocals), Peter Johnston (guitar), Elias Flores (bass), Bruno Sanchez (drums) and faculty leader Darren Mahe (guitars)

Hard Rock Ensemble is devoted to the glorious music with attitude and an edge from the 80s to the present.

Septopod 

Mika Elkuf-Warth (voice), Tony Houchens (vibraphone), Peter Macintyre (guitar), Alex Leffelaar (guitar), Michiel Kapteijns (piano), Jeremy Luth (bass) and faculty leader David Restivo (drums)

Septopod is a seven-piece group dedicated to performing improvisation-based music from the jazz-funk-fusion sphere.

Sgt. Moodle's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Aaron Pasacreta (guitar, vocals), Mateo Beckjord (guitar), Rocco Kong (vocals), David Oosthuizen (vocals), Melissa Lozada Gutierrez (keyboard), Patrick Lehocky (bass), Dylan Boyd (keyboard), Steven Parish (drums) and Uncle Mike Rud as Phil Spector

Sgt. Moodle's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a stirring, powerful, popping tribute to the greatest rock and roll band in history.

Country Music Ensemble (aka The Joelenes)

Zenaya Semple and Rena Vee (vocals), Finley Kinghorn, Amélie Hébert-Chaput and Darren Mahe(guitar), Adam Cripps (bass) and faculty leader Joel Fountain (drums)

Selkirk College’s Country Music Ensemble (aka The Joelenes), is excited to serenade you with a little honky and a little tonky this year! We’re puttin on our best twang and bringing you hits from Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and more. It’s gonna be a rootin tootin good time, so dust off your cowboy boots and bust out your pearly snaps and let us transport you to the Grand Joel Opry! We’ll see you on the dance floor!

Ensemble XIII

Daniela Pacheco, Ali Hickman and Slone Leman (vocals), Jayden Elnas (guitar), Luisa Zuñiga (drums), Kael Helgeson (bass), Jonah Wingleman and faculty lead Havelock John Tucker (keyboards)

Ensemble XIII will be serving up a fit and fiery mix of contemporary Billboard pop and hit-bound future classics from the likes of Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams, The Japanese House, Olivia Dean and Alessia Cara.
