Selkirk Reads! invites you to read a book that highlights Indigenous voices and join a guided discussion about themes related to truth and reconciliation. This year’s short-listed books span fiction, short stories, poetry, non-fiction, graphic novels, memoirs and children's literature.
Selkirk Reads! is loosely based on CBC Radio’s Canada Reads, in which five notable Canadians champion a book they feel every Canadian should read. In Selkirk Reads! book champions will form a circle of readers who will meet once to discuss their chosen book.
Join a Reading Circle
Employees, students and community members are all welcome to join. To take part in reading circle, choose a book and connect with its champion. Book champions will speak about their books at an event in September. Stay tuned for more details!
