Ariel is a Geographer and GIS specialist. Her Master's program focused on the development of a desk-based model to assess risks to coastal archaeological resources in the face of climate change. Over the past nine years, Ariel has been teaching geography, environmental science and GIS at post-secondary institutions in Southern Alberta.

Recently, Ariel's professional interests have evolved to concentrate on the pedagogical aspects of GIS education. She is particularly passionate about designing effective curriculum and teaching methodologies for software-based programs. Her work now emphasizes enhancing the learning experience for students and advancing the field of GIS education.
