Advisor, Co-op Services; Instructor, Integrated Environmental Planning

Celina is an educator with a background in environmental science and hydrology. She completed her graduate studies in hydrology and has a passion for exploring water-related ecosystems and their dynamics. Celina has experience working in the environmental sector, focusing on reclamation and revegetation of disturbed areas.

Since joining Selkirk College in the Co-op & Employment Services department, she works closely with students to provide job search support, co-op opportunities, and employment workshops. Her work is centered on enhancing career readiness and integrating experiential learning into academic programs. 

In addition to her co-op and employment work, Celina teaches sustainability in the second-year Applied Environmental Science & Planning Technology (AESP) Program in the School of Environment & Geomatics and will be joining the AESP field trip this year. 

Her research and professional interests include social and environmental sustainability and supporting student development through work-integrated learning (WIL). She actively contributes to advancing WIL initiatives and has been advocating for inclusivity in SWPP funding programs. Additionally, she regularly collaborates with industry professionals to ensure that students are well-prepared for impactful careers in environmental science and beyond.
