The TLC hosts Selkirk Keep Teaching, where instructors can find videos, handouts and forums on instructional topics, the learning management system, educational technology and program-specific teaching information. It also houses links and recordings to the popular Teacher Talks.
The TLC also offers, at no cost to Selkirk College instructors, courses that are equivalent to the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program. These can be found in Selkirk College’s Open Studies courses and include the Delivery of Instruction Workshop (DIW 100), Evaluation of Learning Workshop (ELW 102), Instructional Media Workshop (IMW 101) and Instructional Strategies Workshop (ISW 103).
Workshops
Delivery of Instruction Workshop
The Delivery of Instruction Workshop provides a framework for instructors to plan, deliver and assess learning experiences, as well as three opportunities for each new or experienced instructor to deliver participatory lessons to their peers and reflect on the feedback.
The workshop is based on competency-based instruction, emphasizing experiential learning, a caring approach and growth-producing feedback.

Evaluation of Learning Workshop
The Evaluation of Learning Workshop (ELW) examines the practices that support the assessment and evaluation strategies used in education and training. The workshop allows instructors to develop the skills to design and implement a comprehensive set of assessment and evaluative measures intended to inform teaching practice and guide students toward success.
The workshop enables the participants to plan, construct and use traditional and authentic assessment and evaluation instruments that are appropriate and ethical to their teaching context.

Instructional Media Workshop
The Instructional Media Workshop helps instructors respond to teaching and learning issues by selecting and creating instructional media that enhance student learning. Open education makes education more affordable and adaptable. Instructors can take this course as a stand-alone course to enhance their teaching and learning abilities and as an equivalent to the Professional Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) 3240 course Media Enhanced Learning.
The projects in the course can be applied to a current course or training module. The processes practiced in the course can be repeated in future applications.

Instructional Strategies Workshop
The Instructional Strategies Workshop will be taught in a fun and challenging online environment, addressing current topics in teaching and learning. Participants will use strategies and techniques that support the development of self-study skills and self-regulated learning, and spark student learning using a developmental lens. Strategies to engage students in how to think critically or creatively will be discussed, and the role of metacognition in learning will be explored.
Participants will be introduced to a trauma-informed approach when creating a safe classroom environment, and throughout the course participants, will practice aligning learning outcomes with learning strategies in their own courses, where applicable, to create a learning environment students can succeed in.
